ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION ~SECOND FLIGHT LINE
For the record...
There were 3 criteria
for this years plans.
First was the issue of "low passers" flying in the pattern with
3Der's down on the deck. We have been more and more concerned over the
last few years with the safety of this practice. And, as I said in the
letter, safety is job 1 at Triple Tree. As you know, it has always been
our policy for 3D flying to be "over the trees", but this has
not been enforced well enough in the past.
This year, all 3D flying at the present flight line will be STRICTLY enforced!
In other words, you are welcome to fly 3D at both flight lines, but if
you want the freedom to hug the deck, you will need to plan on flying
at the new flight line. This, obviously doesn't apply to the noon-time
demo's.
The second objective is to hopefully allow more pilots more chances to
fly. 'nuff said.
Third, there are at least as many RC flyers that do not fly 3D as those
that do. The Joe Nall, among other things, is about including all facets
of RC model aviation.
Further, it was well said, that IF these changes don't work for some reason,
we will adapt in the future.
To recap:
* 3D flying allowed at both flight lines, with restrictions at the primary
flight line.
* New flight line will be 2.4ghz ONLY.
* 2.4ghz allowed at both flight lines (and the lake along with channels
22, 23 and 24).
* "Full blown" 3D hucking at the new flight line ONLY!
By the way, all of our flight lines will be controlled by Confederate
Air Farce personnel.
We hope everyone is as excited about this year's event as we are to bring
it to you! |
