How to Fly at "The Nall"
First Timers or Old Timers

Always think "Safety First"

We hate the words "Do Not" around here, but this section warrants its use.

All airplanes must meet the AMA requirements for flying in a Class C Event.

No Maiden Flights!

Be careful when fueling and transporting your planes not to get Gas on the grass. Use a Catch Can on you over flow. If you do not have a catch can we have some you can borrow.

Please DO NOT turn on your Transmitter until the person flying before you has shut down his Transmitter. There are a limited number of 2.4 systems that can be on at the same time. So, we are asking you to only turn your transmitters on at the flight stations and no where else. If you need to work in the pits use your DSC cable.

You have five flight lines to choose from: Main Flight Line (Race Track Pattern), 3D Flight Line, Heli, Flight Line, Float Flight Line, and the Electric Flight Line (Under 80" wingspan)

Now that you've made your choice of Flight Line and Flight Station, just get in line.

While waiting in line to fly. Check over your aircraft. (Check Battery voltage)

Watch the pilots in the air to learn the flight pattern. DO NOT FLY AGAINST THE PATTEREN!

When starting your plane make sure the nose of the plane is past the front of the flight station.

All airplanes must have a Fail Safe System!
Most 2.4 systems have this designed in. The engine must go to idle if a loss of signal happens. You will be asked to demonstrate this by a flight line worker before your first flight. To do this secure your plane then run up your engine to about 1/4 throttle and shut down your transmitter, The engine should go to idle.  This test will be preformed at the flight station. The control surfaces can be set to your preference. This for everyone's safety, so please do not fly until it's checked.

Now that your plane is checked out you are ready to go. Taxi out past the white line in front of the flight stations. This taxiway will keep you off the active runway and out past people starting planes. Taxi slowly and in control.

Spotters are required on all Flight Lines!
At each flight station we will have  handheld radios with headsets for the spotters to wear. This is for better communication between the spotters and the flight line boss. Use these to call out your intentiions.ie.. Taxing Out, Taking Off, Landing, In Flight Situations,...

On the Main Flight Line we have a Air Horn button located at each flight station. Spotters if at any time your pilot lets you know that he/she does not have control of their airplane. Press and hold this button for 3 seconds and point at the airplane! Tell everyone what's going on. Pilots, do not wait, if you loose control of your airplane let your spotter know immediately. Do all you can to keep the airplane away from any people.

After Landing remember turn your Motor off in front of your flight station. Do not taxi back in to the pit area.

Do Not fly over the other flight areas. i.e... Main Flight take note of the electric flying area.

Pilot Registration
Pre Registration $25.00
Registration after 4/15/10 - $30.00

This year Pilot Registration has been lowered and we are charging the pilots a $5.00 daily fee. This way the pilots that come in later in the week don't feel they are having to pay for the entire event and only be here for a day or two. This fee starts the day you come through the gate until Saturday May 15th. These fees will be collected by the "Early Registration" process or at the gate. Even though the event officially starts Saturday May 8th at noon. The daily pilot fees start on Monday May 10th. Meaning if you come in before Monday as a pilot your total daily fees will be $30.00+$25.00 preregistration fee for a total of $55.00. If you come in Saturday May 15th just to fly the last day. Your daily fee will be $5.00 + $25.00 preregistration or $30.00 after 4/15 registration fee for a total of $30.00. or $35.00 (see event pricing page)

Early Registration is all Pilots Registrations mailed and posted marked Before April 1st.

Registering onsite: These fees will be collected at the gate. To speed up the process, please have your money ready before you get to the gate. (Cash Only, Nearest ATM is in Woodruff)

Wristbands at The Nall!

This year for your safety and security we are going to require everyone at the Nall to wear a wristband. A different color wristband will be given for each day. If you are wearing the wrong colored wristband or not wearing a wristband you will be asked to show your AMA Card and required to purchase another wristband or leave. We know over the years people have been coming in after the gate closes and feel that this may give someone that doesn't respect your Equipment and/or Triple Tree a opportunity to cause us all a lot of grief.
So bare with us and understand if someone stops you if you don't have a wristband on. We are doing this for you!
Thanks!

Only 2.4gh radio systems will be allowed to be used at any flight line this year. This includes the Main, 3D, Float, Heli, and Electric Flight Lines. With only a few 72mz systems being used last year and the added safety that the 2.4 systems bring to the table. We feel it is in the best interest of everyone that we put this rule in to effect.
We still ask you only to turn your systems on if you are at a flight line at a flight station.

No Flying anywhere except at a Flight Station!
